Slice Engineering Wins SMBE Gold Award
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (JUNE 25, 2021)-- Slice Engineering announces today that it was selected as a Gold Winner of the Florida Sterling Manufacturing Business Excellence Awards.
FloridaMakes and The Florida Sterling Council partner to award and recognize high-performing manufacturers and elevate Florida’s manufacturing community. Slice Engineering was selected as one of 18 winners from over 140 nominees in the manufacturing industry.

Slice Engineering will collaborate with FloridaMakes to share industry best practices through webinars and leadership events. It will also be invited to participate in the SMBE panel in the future. Additional SMBE Gold Award 2021 winners include Lockheed Martin Aerostructures, CAE Healthcare, Fleet Readiness Center Southeast, and Pierce Manufacturing.
According to the FloridaMakes website, the purpose of the SMBE Awards are to recognize high-performing Florida manufacturing companies, offer an avenue for networking and sharing of best practices, provide feedback and opportunities for improvement to encourage and develop higher performance in participant companies, and elevate the community perception of the Florida manufacturing sector and its positive contribution to the Florida economy.
Nominated companies were judged on criteria including leadership, strategy, customers, measurement, analysis and knowledge management, workforce, operations and results.
“Manufacturing is a critical industry here in Florida, and our manufacturers set the bar for the rest of the nation,” said John Pieno, Chairman of the Florida Sterling Council, in a news release. “We are pleased to honor these eighteen outstanding Florida organizations who are role models in their industries and are deserving of this prestigious award.”
