Main Bondtech CHT Nozzle Advantages
- Higher melt capacity by increasing the surface area of the heating walls
- Affordable price
- Machined with ultra-precision
- May be used with 1.75 or 2.85 mm hotends.
Advantages of the Nickel Coating
A Nickel coating is applied to CHT Nozzles to provide protection against corrosion, erosion, and abrasion. Nickel-coated nozzles have more corrosion resistance and a lower coefficient of friction, which allows slicker feeding of material and delays plastic adhesion to the nozzle's surface.
Please Note: The RepRap, Vol, and FIN style nozzles have a 6 mm hex and are compatible with our Nozzle Torque Wrench™: 1.5 Nm. The MK8 style nozzles have an 8 mm hex and will require an adapter to be compatible with our Nozzle Torque Wrench.
Our Mako™ Hotend is only compatible with nozzles using the FIN Standard.
- FIN's innovative nozzle geometry interlocks with the silicone boot, completely insulating the hotend and protecting it from cool air and plastic.
Free shipping over $100 is available for US customers only. See terms for full details.
Recommended Materials for CHT Nozzles
| ABS | ASA | HIPS |
| Nylon | PC | PETG |
| PLA | PP | PVA |
| TPE | TPU |
Note: If you plan on printing with different materials, we recommend that you use a different nozzle for each material. Using different materials with the same nozzle causes deposit build-ups inside the nozzle which will end up causing blockages. For technical and abrasive materials, we recommend the use of our GammaMaster® Nozzles.
Technical Specifications
| Style | Dimensions (mm) | Hex (mm) | Material | Recommended Installation Torque (Nm) |
| RepRap | M6×1×7.5×12.5 | 6 | Brass | 1.5 |
| MK8 | M6×1×5×13 | 8 | Brass | 1.5 |
| Volcano | M6×1×14.5×21 | 6 | Brass | 1.5 |
| FIN* | M5x0.8×4.4×9.5 | 6 | Copper | 1.5** |
Note: These nozzles are optimized for 1.75 mm filament, but are compatible with 2.85 mm hotends. To
install/uninstall
the RepRap, Vol, or FIN style nozzles, a 6 mm wrench (like our Nozzle Torque Wrench) is required. To install/uninstall the MK8 style
nozzles, an 8 mm wrench is required. Our Nozzle Torque Wrench may be used on MK8 style nozzles
with a proper adapter.
* Cold nozzle changes should be avoided with the CHT FIN nozzle. The minimum recommended temperature for changing the CHT FIN nozzle on the Mako Hotend is 270°C. Additionally, you should aim to hot-tighten the nozzle with the hotend temperature at least 10°C above the intended printing temperature, or up to 300°C.
** The CHT FIN nozzle is more sensitive to overtorque due to its unique internal geometry and copper alloy. Do not exceed 1.5 Nm torque when installing this nozzle. We recommend our
Nozzle Torque
Wrench™, which is preset to 1.5 Nm.
